Another night out
Posting this from my friend's laptop in Iwate prefecture. Decided to spend a day or two up here for their New Year festival.
Last night was another adventure at that same club, this time with Yuta and one of his friends, and with almost no intoxication. Of course I picked a girl out of the crowd, a really cute one, and started dancing like a fool. Hint: if she's cute and looks innocent, it means she's actually 28 and a chain smoker. I think she was a bit scared when she found out my age, and got really nervous. She shied away for the rest of the evening. Finally when the music started slowing down I hauled a drunken Yuta out of there, fetched my camera and jacket, and walked right into an elevator with the same girl and HER friends.
I was just gonna bail back to the hotel, but Yuta's advice (in the form of shouting at me and shoving me in her direction) was that I should just go talk to her again and maybe walk her home, since she seemed to be walking by herself. Nothing better to do, and drunken logic usually works well in these kind of situations. By the time we reached the end of the street she had grabbed my hand and we were trying not to fall down on the ice. By then she hopped in a taxi, and I didn't have the nerve to just hop in and invite myself to her place. Stupid. It's obvious in retrospect what she wanted, what I should have done, but I never even got a phone number.

Maybe it's just me but I think caution is the better part of valor, especially when trying to hook-up with a random stranger. I found it is better to find out some background on a person, such as "do they have a six foot - three boyfriend," then try for a follow-up date.
p.s. You're killing your mother.

Listen to Eric. He makes a lot of sence and knows what he's talking about--in his note and the PS, too!

I know I spelled "sense" wrong. Need to proofread. Hey Jeff, are you going to tell everyone about your new niece?

Good to have your mom keeping an eye on your love life! ;) People say that a one-night-stand is something everyone should have tried once. Well, I don't agree.

I don't know about that chain-smoker part... smokers have nasty teeth. :(
