crazy guy and mind wasps

The new guy in my hospital room is either senile or a lunatic. He started moving around and banging cabinets after the lights went out. I guess he managed to pee in his own cup before removing his IV and locking himself in the restroom. As if I wasn't having enough problems falling asleep thinking about people sticking needles in my ear like today. I'm gonna have nightmares tonight if I ever get to sleep.

Oh I never described what they did? They were INJECTING steroids through my EARDRUM. So yeah. Despite the anesthesia it felt notably UNPLEASANT. Think a wasp laying eggs inside your brain, or maybe that star trek with the mind ear worm thing. IN A COUNTRY WHERE NOBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH!

First came the anaesthetic stuff. I saw the swab on the end of what looked like half a pair of scissors. I broke into a cold sweat while he jammed that into my ear. Chinese water torture? hah. Then he made me wait 15 minutes for it to kick in. Back to the table. I didn't look at the needle and I didn't want to. BUT THAT PART OF THE INSIDE OF MY HEAD IS NOT SUPPOSED TO MOVE!! "Okay now tilt your head so the fluid doesn't leak out." dear god my brains are leaking out my ear! brain parasites ear insects crawling burrowing tunnelling

So if I sound like a paranoid madman maybe it's understandable?

day 6 and counting

They finally pulled the IV tube. I thought they'd let me go home and rest tomorrow but they're holding me here until after the MRI on Friday. Dammit I want to go home and get some real sleep and quiet time, not to mention a shave and real shower! Plus this place is pretty boring. Even if the TV were at the foot of the bed, I can only watch Japanese TV for so long before I want to boil my eyeballs.

Japanese hospital dinner

A bowl of rice. Vegetable seaweed salad with fried tofu. Miso soup with butter clams. Pork, potato, and onion stew with carrot and broccoli, and spicy mustard. Sliced Asian pear for dessert. You'd never see food this good in a U.S. hospital.

Wait, am I in a hospital or a mental institution?
