the sword maker of Shiroishi

Today visited a castle and reconstructed samurai residence on a field trip. Afterwards went to one of the last forges where Japanese swords are still made by hand. Price: ranges from 15 to 20 thousand dollars. Each. For just the blade, without hilt wrapping, handguard, or scabbard. He makes maybe 20 in a year, and sells each one.

oooo I want one. Except I’m poor. Is that price in Japanese Yen or USD?

  2. Jeff says:

Twenty thousand buckeroos. As in, you can get a good sniper rifle for half that price. :)
