despite the bad things

I think every place has its bad points. But this place… it has four seasons, it has matsuri (local festivals), it feels new and yet safe. It is the kind of place one could raise a family. Why am I thinking of such things? I am in no position to have a family. But a secure place like this… maybe it is my current age kicking in. But I know this feeling will just get stronger as I get older.

Cleanse your mind of such thought ;)

Besides, out of the four seasons only the spring and fall seem to be actually livable. As in, not cold and wet or hot and muggy. And would you feel safe if you had children out walking on these narrow streets at rush hour?
… I suppose it’s better than many other places though.
Gyaaaah! Now you’ve gotten me thinking it too.

Although Sendai had already become a second home by the time I’d left, I can’t say I’d particularly want to live there. Safe? Maybe, but safe is also another word for “boring.” I think that, maybe, if I had a family it might seem more appealing, but otherwise I’d much rather live in a place like Tokyo or New York.

Not sure why, actually. Maybe just because I’ve never tried it.
