I got a rice cooker!
One of the running jokes around here is that non-Asians can't cook rice properly in a pot. It really is a tough thing to do right; so much that even the natives just give up and get one of these.
Now if I can just overcome my fear of supermarkets....

Kinda like that scene in True Lies, if you remember it, where the terrorists ask Ahnold to tell them what the nuclear warhead is. "This is an espresso machine. No, no wait. It's a snowcone maker. Is it a water heater?"

It looks like one of those Fischer Price sing-along tape decks I used to have as a kid. All it needs is a microphone attached to the side.

Cibophobia is the fear of food--I could not find a fear of rice, nor is there a fear of SUPERmarkets. I think it looks like one of those little tabletop jukeboxes they used to have at restaurants, and still do at oldies places. Can you get any Elvis on that thing? You know..."You Ain't Nothin' but a Rice Ball"?

Thanks mom. I should have known you would prove me wrong.

What's wrong? Agoraphobia is fear of the marketplace, which is probably closer than anything. You had it right to start with. I was just seeing if they had a more modern version, fear of supermarkets---Costcophobia? Bashasphobia? Safewayphobia?

Actually, it's a bit upgraded version of mine/Joey's. ;)
