Culture Class
Sorry for the general lack of updates. I've been busy writing a paper for my Japanese Culture class. I suppose I've never written about that class... if you can imagine an hour and a half lounge comedy by an expat Brit about how wacky this country is (keeping in mind this class is in Japan), then I applaud you, and you deserve a cookie. If you can't, it's extremely amusing. In fact, it's so much fun that I think everyone actually comes to class, every week. If you know college students well, this is quite a compliment.
Of course, no class can be this much fun, and so we have to write a 1000 word essay so that he can actually GRADE us on something. So I'm writing about how the Japanese language relates to how families and businesses are structured. It would be quite fascinating, except that in most situations I absolutely detest writing; especially those with a length requirement.
No offense to anyone who ever assigns papers with length requirements, but for the sake of us engineers and scientists out there, do us a favor and look up the words "concise" and "minimalist" in your dictionaries. A well written essay can be short and clear, and some of us prefer to write like that.

I'm all about short, sweet, and to the point!

Just don't tell anyone your mother is an English teacher, OK? Because I know you can write and BS with the best of them, minimalist-boy.
