Mom, you asked, so here it is. I don’t have any photos of the exterior with me right now, but rest assured they’ll go up soon.
As you can see, the room is rather spartan, and a bit cluttered, but I don’t spend a whole lot of time in there anyway. We’re furnished with a bed with a futon on top (which is actually pretty damn comfortable to sleep on) and a metric enormity of furniture for storage space. They even give us a telephone.
Of course, even with all that stuff you still have to buy some other necessities. I purchased my first umbrella a few days ago, and you can see it has a nice home on my doorknob. The wonderfully compact hamper was another addition, courtesy of a trip to the downtown department store, Daiei. And of course, no home in Japan would be complete without a pair of slippers at the door, for those midnight trips to the restroom. Gotta keep your feet comfy, right?

Pretty Spartan! Thanks, though. I was curious. Do you need anything like a big picture of the Grand Canyon for the wall? Are you allowed to hang things on the wall?
Ha! Looks like Jeff caught on and bought some more of that cereal. mmmmmmm…
